PURPOSE. To establish prevention and intervention policy and procedures for managing workplace violence and threatening behavior in the U. S. Coast Guard. This Instruction authorizes the use of Crisis Intervention Team's (CIT's) to prevent violence and ensure available resources and procedural options are immediately accessible to commands and supervisors. This Instruction is consistent with enforcing the Uniform Code of Military Justice and state and Federal law where they apply.
