REVIEW ITEM DISCREPANCY SYSTEM USER'S GUIDE

inactive, Most Current
Organization: MSFC
Publication Date: 1 September 2000
Status: inactive
Page Count: 34
scope:

This User's Guide is intended to assist system users in performing all RID processes from entering to closing a RID.

Section 4.0 of this guide presents an overview of the RID system along with basic system access information. Section 5.0 provides step-by-step instructions for negotiating screens, forms, and menus. Appendix A presents definitions and general guideline for conducting reviews and maximizing the usefulness of the RID system.

Purpose. The Review Item Discrepancy (RID) system is based on the standard MSFC RID form and developed as a generic FileMaker Pro database and associated forms and reports. The RID system resides on an MSFC server and those authorized users with access to the MSFC's networks can input, review and update RID's as well as generate review reports. Each review is implemented as an instance of the generic RID system. The RID system can also be interfaced to a forms feature on a World Wide Web page to provide access for those reviewers who do not have direct access to the MSFC network.

Minor modifications to the RID system database structure, forms and/or reports can be accommodated to support the review requirements of an individual project if there is a compelling reason to do so and sufficient lead time is provided to implement the modifications. Since modified RID systems require long-term maintenance, such modifications must be justified and approved by ED43.
