scope:
The subject of this guideline is the reduction of emissions from new web offiet printing plants using the heatset procedure on web-type paper and cardboard printing stock. Drying is accelerated using hot air and downstream cold rollers. Combination dryers. e.g. using direct fbimesiinfrared, can also be employed. A waste gas cleating system is also part of this type of printing plant.
This guideline contains a description of all the steps in the printing process, the components making up the printing plant and the materials used, and de-scribes their interaction and their influence on the conditions and outcome of the work process, as well as the formation and avoidance of emissions. As a part of this description, the topic of air pollution is examined in detail. With regard to other emissions, reference is only made to the existing legal regula-tions and officially recognized conventions.
This guideline does not refer to any other printing processes or printing stock; in particular it does not apply to web offset printing using the heatless drying procedure (coldset offset printing), dry offset printing or any other method of drying.
The current legal requirements [1 to 23] and technical rules on the subject [24 to 63; 80; 82; 83; 85 to 88] are quoted where appropriate.
