Flameproof non-rail-bound dieselpowered machines for use in gassy underground coal mines
|Publication Date:||1 January 2016|
This Standard describes the technical requirements and procedures necessary for the design, performance, and testing of new or unused flameproof, non-rail-bound diesel-powered, self-propelled machines for use in gassy underground mines.
Note: The working environment of gassy mines is characterized by the presence of methane gas and combustible dust.
This Standard applies to machines of 45 000 kg mass or less, which are designed to operate on level ground at a maximum speed of 32 km/h or less.
Braking system performance requirements and proof tests are not included in the Scope of this Standard, except from the standpoint of the reduction of fire and explosion hazards.
Note: See CAN/CSA-M424.3 for brake construction, stopping performance, and test requirements.
In this Standard, "shall" is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the Standard; "should" is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and "may" is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Standard.
