This standard, in conjunction with DIN 16917-2, applies to pipes made of thermoplastic materials with profiled walls and smooth pipe inside and made of the following materials: polyethylene (PE 80, PE 100 and PE-HD), polypropylene (PP), homopolymer and copolymer and unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), with a nominal diameter greater than 1 200 mm, intended for underground installation. It also applies to fittings manufactured from these pipes.

This standard contains general requirements and performance characteristics for large pipes and fittings made of thermoplastic materials with profiled walls and smooth pipe inside for underground uses
