This standard covers backwater prevention systems that use sensors, controls and mechanisms for the prevention of backflow for sanitary drainage and storm systems and specifies minimum requirements for materials, mechanical, electrical, performance tests and markings.

The purpose of this Standard is to enhance health and safety by:
