Purpose

The purpose of the Army Privacy Program is to balance the Government's need to maintain information about individuals with the right of individuals to be protected against unwarranted invasions of their privacy stemming from the collection, maintenance, use, or disclosure of personal information. This regulation sets forth policies and procedures that govern personal information kept by the Department of the Army (DA) in Privacy Act systems of records.
