This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, flash welded rings 3.00 inches (76.2 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and 16 in2(103 cm2) and under in cross-sectional area and stock of any size for flash welded rings (see 8.4).

Application

These products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength and toughness and good creep resistance up to 1000 °F (538 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications.

Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
