Form

This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, flash welded rings 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and stock of any size for forging or flash welded rings (see 8.6).

Application

These products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength-to-weight ratio up to 750 °F (399 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications.

Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
