AIM

The aim of this NATO standardization agreement (STANAG) is to respond to the following interoperability requirements.

INTEROPERABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Participating nations agree to adopt a standard colour code system for the identification of medical gas cylinders and to fit with flush type cylinder outlet valves to guarantee the interoperability. Therefore it is necessary to stock adapters to establish compatibility between the standards allowing proper cross-servicing of medical gas cylinders as far as possible.
