Introduction
This Track Work Instruction covers replacing like-for-like a common crossing that has been delivered to site.
The crossing could be a built up or cast crossing, but this TWI deals with one that is installed on timber with fishplated leg-ends.
Built up crossings should not be installed where line speed is greater than 90mph. See also separate instructions:
