Introduction

This Track Work Instruction covers how to deal with a bank slip that is showing, or has shown, signs of slight movement. The movement is likely to be small and intermittent - not enough to prompt a full engineering emergency. This TWI explains how to keep traffic moving with the risks kept to the lowest practicable. Some slip sites have been active for many years - eventually though, the rate of deterioration MAY accelerate enough to cause traffic disruption.
