This Network Rail standard specifies/provides guidance on the dfferences between the use of the P8 profile as attached to a TGP8 track gauge and a Protractor Gauge.
This is applicable when using either gauge type to assess the contact point of a P8 wheel profile on a switch blade or when using a protractor gauge to assess the angle of the switch rail running face.
Purpose
This track work information (TWI) sheet contains details as to the use of the P8 profile on the TGP8 track gauge and the use of the Protractor Gauge.
