Introduction

This Track Work Instruction covers how to remove material that has been illegally tipped on to Railway property by others.

Fly tipping cannot be ignored because once the material has been tipped it becomes the responsibility of the landowner.

Fly tipping is not only lorry loads of building materials - it ranges from old fridges, cars, settees, bags of rubbish, etc, quite often thrown over adjacent householder's fences.
