Introduction

This Track Work Instruction covers the maintenance of transitions on curves.

A transition is the length of track joining two sections of track with differing radii. In their commonest form they join straights to curves - but they also join curves to curves.

Transitions also exist between reverse curves, which may or may not be provided with short straights between the two 'halves'.
