scope:
This standard applies to the use of desiccants1) in bags according to DIN 55473, in packages made of packaging materials1) with low water vapour permeability2) or with a barrier film impermeable to water vapour.
The desiccant is intended to protect the packaged goods1) during transportation and storage from damage caused by humidity in various climatic conditions.
The purpose of this standard is to specify uniform methods for calculating the number of desiccant units that are to be enclosed.
