Der vorliegende Teil der Normenreihe IEC 62439 legt ein Wiederherstellungsprotokoll auf der Basis einer Ringtopologie fest, das so konzipiert ist, dass es unter der Kontrolle eines fest zugeordneten Medienredundanz-Managerknotens deterministisch auf einen Einzelfehler einer Inter-Switch-Verbindung oder eines Switches im Netzwerk reagiert.
