PURPOSE

This work instruction defines the Payload Safety Readiness Review Board (PSRRB) process.

APPLICABILITY

This Instruction applies to all MSFC-managed payload projects that are subject to a phased safety review process by the Johnson Space Center (JSC) Payload Safety Review Panel (PSRP) and/or the JSC Safety Review Panel (SRP). Also, this Instruction is applicable to safety review processes by safety review panels that are delegated safety certification responsibilities by the PSRP or the SRP such as the JSC S&MA Review Team (SMART). The process and procedures documented herein apply to MSFC payload projects and personnel who participate in payload safety readiness reviews for MSFC projects including Space Shuttle and International Space Station (ISS) payloads and cargo elements.
