MODUK - DEF-5193

Cores, Magnetic, Strip Wound, Silicon Iron (12.59);

active, Most Current
Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 1 December 1959
Status: active
Page Count: 21
scope:

This specification relates to Cores, Magnetic, strip wound, rectangular and toroidal, cut or uncut, in grain oriented silicon iron, normally supplied in an annealed condition with the individual turns of the core insulated from each other.

Note.-An iron oxide coating is not deemed to be satisfactory insulation for the cores listed in Section 3 of this specification.

The cores are suitable for continuous use over the temperature range -40 to + 150ºC, and for storage over the range -55 to + 150ºC. Since they are only used in equipment as parts of complete magnetic devices, the responsibility for protection against humidity is considered to lie with the manufacturers of the magnetic devices; Humidity Classes are not therefore applicable.
