Applicability.

This pamphlet applies to the  Active Army , the Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve, unless otherwise stated. During mobilization, procedures in this publication can be modified to support policy changes as necessary.

Purpose

This pamphlet provides the procedures for implementing policy contained in AR 25-400-2. It provides operational procedures for the maintenance and disposition of Army information, which encompasses identifying records, managing the various types of records media, applying disposition instructions, scheduling records, using the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) software application, transferring and retiring records, and referencing and servicing procedures; this pamphlet also explains records disposition, records holding areas (RHAs), Federal records centers (FRCs), and records management program evaluations. This guide specifically addresses those duties performed by the records management officials in dealing with the recordkeeping subprogram of the Army records management program.
