PROCEDURE FOR CASUAL EXPOSURE OF MATERIALS TO HYPERGOLIC FLUIDS
Organization: | KSC |
Publication Date: | 12 September 1994 |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 20 |
scope:
This procedure provides a means to determine the effects of minor amounts of hypergolic fluids, such as a splash, on materials such as plastics, foams, adhesives, coatings, composites, elastomers, fabrics, coated fabrics, films, supported films, lubricants, metals, etc. This procedure is not applicable for determining the prolonged effects of hypergolic fluids on materials used in the design and operation of hypergol storage and transfer systems. Materials that are in constant exposure to hypergolic fluids should be evaluated per NHB 8060.1 latest revision.
This procedure may also be applicable for the testing of materials that may similarly be exposed to other chemicals
