(NEPO) ACQUISITION LOGISTICS RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROCEDURES FOR NAVY EXPEDITIONARY TABLE OF ALLOWANCE MATERIEL

The policy, responsibilities, and procedures described in the Acquisition Logistics Manual, enclosure (1), apply to all expeditionary system and joint system acquisition and modernization programs for Table of Allowance materiel determined to be support worthy. Typically, an item is considered support worthy if the logistics support analysis establishes that organic maintenance is required and one or more elements of a PSP is required. An item that does not require organic maintenance may still be designated as support worthy if it requires anyone of the following elements of a PSP:
• Support EqUipment
• Technical Manuals
• Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation
• Computer Resources Support
• Demilitarization and Disposal Plan
PSPs require resources to build and sustain over the product life cycle. Program Managers shall ensure that the costs of committing to a PSP are justified by its benefits.
Purpose. To establish mandatory policy, procedures, and guidelines for acquisition logistics support for NAVFAC-managed expeditionary equipment programs in accordance with references (a) through (i).
