scope:

GENERAL

a. Detail specifications referred to in the Tables in this Section of the Standard are covered by the requirements and procedures as specified in the following documents:

(1) OS 9300 series of detail specifications as specified in BS 9000: 'Specification for general requirements for electronic components of assessed quality'.

(2) DEF STAN 59-61 (PART 3): Defence Standard detail specifications for semiconductor devices which have been prepared in accordance with BS 9300 series 'Rules' documents and DEF STAN 59-61 (PART 1), and for which no BS 9300 series specifications are available.

(3) DEF STAN 59-61 (PART 80) e Defence Standard detail specification. for semiconductor devices which have been prepared for devices that have been completely manufactured outside the United Kingdom sources and imported without quality assurance certification, ie the manufacture of the devices has been carried out in an uncontrolled source from the quality assurance point of view ('acceptable quality assurance certification' is unlikely outside the Urd.ted Kingdom and certain CBCC, member countries ). Therefore these specifications are confined to devices which are not available from United Kingdom sources and the use of which in Ministry of Defence equipment is unavoidable. Le\
