PROPELLANTS, SOLID: SAMPLING, EXAMINATION AND TESTING
Organization: | NPFC |
Publication Date: | 13 October 2010 |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 416 |
scope:
This standard describes the general methods of sampling, examining, and testing solid propellants.
The test methods contained in this standard shall apply to the testing of solid propellants for conformance to the chemical and physical requirements of the applicable propellant specifications. In the event of conflict between these methods and those in the applicable propellant specifications, the latter shall take precedence.
This method is used for determining the moisture and volatile solvent content of single-base propellants on the basis of loss of weight on heating at 55° C under vacuum. This method is not suitable for large grain propellants.
This method is used for determining the tin content of propellants. The presence of other metals that react with iodine will cause interference.
This method is used for determining the potassium sulfate or potassium nitrate content in propellants.
intended Use:
The intented use of this standard is, to describe the sampling, examining and testing, for solid propellant.
