Form

This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, flash welded rings up through 4.000 inches (101.60 mm), inclusive in diameter or least distance between parallel sides, and stock for flash welded rings or heading of any size.

Application

This alloy has been used typically for parts requiring strength up to 800 °F (427 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications.

Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
