|Publication Date:||15 November 2018|
|ICS Code (Implants for surgery, prosthetics and orthotics):||11.040.40|
This specification covers the requirements for unalloyed titanium and Ti-6Al-4V alloy powders for use in fabricating coatings on titanium alloy implants.
Powders covered under this specification may be used to form coatings by sintering or thermal spraying techniques.
This specification covers powder requirements only. It does not address properties of the coatings formed from them.
Finely divided titanium powder may be considered pyrophoric and should be handled in accordance with the appropriate guidelines.
Units-The values stated in either SI units or inchpound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.
