This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of forgings 4.0 inches (101.6 mm) and under in nominal cross-sectional thickness and of forging stock.

Application

These forgings have been used typically for parts in high-stress and stress-corrosion-resistant applications requiring higher fracture toughness, but permitting lower tensile properties than AMS4984, but usage is not limited to such applications.
