Standard Specification for Aluminum-Clad Steel Core Wire for Use in Overhead Electrical Aluminum Conductors
|Publication Date:||1 October 2019|
|ICS Code (Wires):||29.060.10|
This specification covers round, aluminum-clad steel core wire with two designations of tensile strengths, AW2 (Normal Strength) and AW3 (High Strength).
The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not necessarily exact equivalents; therefore, to ensure conformance with the standard, each system shall be used independently of the other, and values from the two systems shall not be combined.
For conductor sizes designated by AWG, the requirements in SI units have been numerically converted from corresponding values stated or derived in inch-pound units. For conductor sizes designated by SI units only, the requirements are stated or derived in SI units.
This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
