scope:
This Standard specifies procedures which shall be applied to household and similar electrical equipment, as detailed in Appendix A, prior to it being offered for sale. This equipment is intended for use in both domestic and workplace environments.
The procedures include not only the safety inspection and testing of low voltage single phase and polyphase second-hand equipment but also confirmation that safety measures such as mechanical guards are fitted and working correctly.
