INTRODUCTION

Notes are used to supply necessary information not covered by dimensions. Notes must be in English, concise and worded so that the meaning cannot be misconstrued. Notes should be in the present tense, preferably in the form of an instruction. For example: PAINT HERE rather than TO BE PAINTED HERE.

See Standard E-2, Special Controls, for notes relating to Control Items, Critical Characteristics, and Significant Characteristics.

For Product Engineering drawings, notes or drawing callouts containing the part or assembly's vehicle usage is not permitted on the field of the drawing.
