Purpose.

Purpose of AFI 63-101/20-101, Integrated Life Cycle Management, contains directive overarching processes and procedures required to deliver and sustain warfighting capabilities. Integrated Life Cycle Management governs all aspects of infrastructure, resource management, and business systems necessary for the successful acquisition of systems, subsystems, end items, and services to satisfy validated warfighter or user requirements. This publication was written to be used with the non-directive best practices and procedures provided in Air Force Pamphlet (AFPAM) 63-128, Integrated Life Cycle Management and AFPAM 63-129, Air System Development and Sustainment Engineering Processes and Procedures.

The management of systems throughout their lifecycle involves a multi-functional collaborative effort among the requirements, acquisition and sustainment, test, information operations, and intelligence communities.
