This Functional Specification defines the minimum functional requirements related to coating works, including supply, characterization, inspection and testing of protective coatings intended to be applied on the exterior surfaces of steel pipes for pipelines, buried and submerged, and related components and fittings as bend, valves, etc.

This document is composed by a general part, with common requirements, and 8 appendices, each one dedicated to a specific type of pipe coating.

This this document does not apply to Sub Sea Production systems that are covered in the 20000.ENG.CPI.STD. standard.
