Purpose
This pamphlet provides procedural guidance for the preparation and reporting of law enforcement reports (LERs), and serious incident reports (SIRs), using DA Form 190-45-SG (Army Law Enforcement Reporting and Tracking System (ALERTS)). This pamphlet standardizes the use of this system as the automated reporting system for military law enforcement reporting throughout the Army, providing commanders, Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), and the Department of Defense (DOD) a record of LERs and services. Policy pertaining to each of these reports is contained in AR 190-45.
