PURPOSE
a. Manual.
This Manual is composed of several volumes, each containing its own purpose. The purpose of the overall Manual, in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5143.01 (Reference (a)), is to implement policy established in DoDD 5205.07 (Reference (b)), assign responsibilities, and provide security procedures for DoD SAP information.
b. Volume.
This Volume:
(1) Provides guidance and procedures for the application of control markings on DoD SAP information consistent with Executive Order 13526 (Reference (c)), Part 2001 subpart C of title 32, Code of Federal Regulations (Reference (d)), and Volume 2 of DoD Manual 5200.01 (Reference (e)).
(2) Cancels Directive-Type Memorandum 07-021 (Reference (f)).
