PURPOSE.
a. Manual.
This manual is composed of several volumes, each containing its own purpose. The purpose of the overall manual, in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5143.01 (Reference (a)), is to implement policy established in DoDD 5205.07 (Reference (b)), assign responsibilities, and provide security procedures for DoD SAP information.
b. Volume.
This volume:
(1) Assigns responsibilities, implements policy established in DoD Instruction (DoDI) 5205.11 (Reference (c)), and describes the general procedures for the administration of DoD SAP security.
(2) Incorporates and cancels Revision 1 Department of Defense Overprint to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Operating Manual Supplement (Reference (d)).
