Application

The rules in this section apply to propellers intended for propulsion, steering and manoeuvring. Ch.2 describes all general requirements for rotating machinery and forms the basis for all sections in Ch.3, Ch.4 and Ch.5.

The following items are recognised as parts of the propeller and are subject to approval:

- propeller blades

- blade fitting mechanism (e.g. blade bolts - if any)

- propeller hub

- pitch control mechanism (if any).

For fitting of the propeller to the shaft, see Ch.4 Sec.1.
