Purpose.

This standard provides a procedure to measure Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) accuracy and precision for range and reflectance as well as false positive and negative noise. The test objective is to quantify near field LiDAR range and reflectance accuracy and precision as well as noise for a pre-defined Field of View (FOV) in a lab environment utilizing calibrated targets. This procedure details analyzing the pre-defined FOV in its entirety as well as over 1° azimuth and 1° elevation increments. Additionally, the impact of a retroreflector target is also assessed.
