INCITS Technical Report for Information Technology – Biometric Performance Testing and Reporting – Part 7: Framework for Testing Methodologies for Specific Modalities

active, Most Current
Organization: ANSI
Publication Date: 1 January 2009
Status: active
Page Count: 33
scope:

As each modality varies in the characteristics examined, i.e., fingerprint minutiae versus dynamic signature verification variables such as time or pressure, the standard testing methodology should be adapted and take into consideration both modality-dependent variables and environmental conditions during testing.

This technical report provides guidance for development of modality-specific biometric testing methodologies. Standard testing methodologies can be enhanced to account for modality-specific influencing factors, potentially improving the applicability of test results.

This technical report is intended to:

• Discuss modality-dependent influencing factors and their potential impact on performance.

• Provide guidance and describe testing methodologies for testing biometric modalities in different environments.
