This Notice Board covers Mk1 RTL backboard assemblies where the modules are adjustable with fixed brackets, and early Mk2 installations where the modules are of a fixed type with tilting backboard. The U bolts in these cases are made from steel bar electroplated zinc and passivated

 

Purpose

The purpose of this Notice Board is to draw attention to the possibility that U Bolts on Level Crossing Wig Wag assemblies have been corroding, and in some cases failing causing the assembly to become detached from the post.
