This specification establishes requirements for composition, performance, and labeling of artists' colored pencils.

This specification covers vehicles and additives. Requirements are included for identification, lightfastness, and consistency.

Colored pencil specimens are exposed to both natural daylight through window glass and simulated window glassfiltered daylight radiation to determine the lightfastness rating for each pencil.

The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
