This Standard applies to equipment primarily used in telecommunication networks and intended to be installed or used in non-hazardous locations in accordance with CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
This Standard does not apply to protective devices such as isolating and neutralizing transformers, drainage coils and mutual drainage reactors, and optical isolators; nor does it apply to any other devices that might require special engineering considerations such as the protection of telecommunication services to, or between, electric power stations.
This Standard is not applicable to field adjustable protectors.
