scope:
This module applies in all circumstances where any person is required to lead the construction, renewal enhancement and modification of OLE on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure.
A competence of OLEC 5C will provide Industry wide recognition (by assessment) of an individual's comprehensive combination of underpinning Knowledge of the various OLE systems and company/group standards & legislation, relevant career experience (nominal 8 years subject to assessment), senior industry qualifications, professional recognition / status and thorough awareness of NWR E &P project and engineering processes and best practices. The OLEC 5C assessment panel comprises of (as a minimum) an OLEC Trainer/Assessor and discipline specific PEM, Principal engineer (contact systems) and/or LDE (NWR) or contractors Professional Head (E&P) from the sponsoring organisation.
Purpose
The purpose of this module is to define the competence requirements for persons required to take and relinquish responsibility for overhead line equipment between renewal, enhancement and construction activities.
