Purpose
a. This instruction issues the mission, functions, tasks and organizational information for the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NAVORDSAFSECACT). NAVORDSAFSECACT was established coincident with the disestablishment of the Naval Ordnance Center in order to provide a continuing Navy focus and technical authority on safety and security for ordnance and explosives as directed by references (a) through (g).
b. This revision includes updates to the functions and tasks of NAVORDSAFSECACT, provided here as enclosure (1). This is a complete revision and should be reviewed in its entirety.
