This procedure applies to all the MMTs owned and operated by Network Rail Infrastructure Maintenance (IM) and all Network Rail staff. The procedure works in collaboration with applicable standards of any Railway Undertaking (RU) contracted to operate the MMT.

All sites where work will be undertaken within the MMT are to be inspected and verified using this procedure. The items that require inspection and verification on site include:

a) hazards;

b) resource requirements;

c) the activity to be completed;

d) site specific arrangements;

e) tight structures that could impact the set-up of the MMT; and

f) the gauging information required to assess the site for out-of-gauge working by the MMT between the MMT line and any adjacent line that will be open to traffic.

Purpose

The purpose of this module is to identify the elements that require inspection, verification and marking up on site during the planning stages to allow any work activity that will be undertaken within the MMT to proceed.
