active, Most Current
Organization: NR
Publication Date: 24 June 2022
Status: active
Page Count: 2
scope:

This Notice Board applies to the proposers, sponsors, project teams and suppliers signalling systems that utilise Automatic Route Setting (ARS). It is also applicable to anyone undertaking a change to the operation of the railway (for example when timetables change).

Purpose

This Notice Board is a reminder to the proposers, sponsors, project teams and suppliers of signalling systems that utilise Automatic Route Setting (ARS); permissive working rules and requirements should be applied by the technology. Changes to train operations (for example at times of timetable change) should consider the benefit available from ARS systems and make the appropriate ARS 'data changes'.

This is a joint publication by the Network Technical Head (Signalling) and the Head of Operations Principles & Standards.
