The expected users of this standard are those preparing rolling stock maintenance documentation, for London Underground (LU) and London Trams. For rolling stock contracts let after the issue of version A5 of this standard an alternative system may be developed based on BS EN 15380-2.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to define the system for referencing and indexing physical parts of rolling stock and rolling stock permanently mounted systems.
This standard is to be used for consistency of approach when referencing rolling stock parts and systems.
