This standard shall apply to all managed Data Communication Networks based on optical fibre and copper cabling, utilised on TfL's infrastructure except where wired communications systems are explicit in the following standards:

This standard also covers the high-level principles for wired Operational Voice Communications systems, including Signal Post Telephone systems where required operationally.

This standard applies to all TfL projects and business units including their suppliers involved in the design, delivery, operation, and maintenance of Wired Communication Systems.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the minimum safety and technical requirements for all elements of the Wired Communication Systems to be used throughout TfL's network and infrastructure.
