Purpose:

This issuance:

• Establishes policies and assigns responsibilities for specified support to the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the United States of America (referred to in this issuance collectively as "Scouting Organizations"), and the American Red Cross.

• Designates the Secretary of the Army as the DoD Executive Agent (EA) for Specified Support to Scouting Organizations and the American Red Cross in accordance with DoD Directive (DoDD) 5101.01.

• Designates the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) as the Principal Staff Assistant overseeing the activities of the DoD EA for Specified Support to Scouting Organizations and the American Red Cross in accordance with DoDD 5101.01.
