Purpose:
In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5143.01 and the June 29, 2018, Deputy Secretary of Defense approval of the May 21, 2018 request to establish the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S)) as the proponent for this issuance, this issuance establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides guidelines for the deputation of DoD personnel.
