This guidance applies to all Permanent Way Engineers in TfL Engineering and all Track Managers in LU Asset Operations.

This guidance covers the recording of clearances for all tracks and structures on LU running lines and in depots and sidings.

Purpose

The purpose of this guidance is to provide an overview and instruction into the use of the Restriction Management System Database (RDSD).

It is particularly aimed at persons new to using the RMSD, although it also provides useful guidance to experienced personnel.

This document supports the use of London Underground (LU) standard S1156 and PR0038 which should be consulted for greater detail. Where any discrepancy exists between this document and S1156 the requirements of the latter shall take precedence.
